A long time ago it was the invention of guns that changed warfare, then it was planes. Now, it’s laser weapons. The AFRL, Air Force Research Laboratory, says that they can put a laser weapon on a Fighter Jet by 2020. But, it has to be smaller, accurate and more lightweight than it is now-a-days. The AFRL has built Laser weapons that works on the ground. Also the U.S. Navy has a successful laser on one of the boats. But hitting a target precisely flying hundreds of miles an hour is complicated. The AFRL is indeed working on this idea hard and they say it might be finished by 2020.
So, I recently visited a cousin that was in the military. When we were looking at his WWI and WWII artifacts, he told me that he wanted an old military shotgun from when he was in the army (our family are BIG hunters). But I didn’t understand what he meant by old. Then he told my parents how technology is in the military so much more than it was when he served. So, this article reminded me of how technology is in the military so much more than it was in the “old days”.
