Air Force Laser-armed Fighter Jets, By 2020?

I just read a very interesting story about how the Air Force is making energy weapons, including lasers. They are developing this type of technology and said that it would be finished by September of 2020. "It really is a national tipping point,” said Kelly Hammett chief designer for the AFRL’s (Air Force Research Laboratory)  directed energy directorate. This type of technology has been possible for years, but the Pentagon Banned it in 2007.

They are also inventing 360-degree laser bubble shields to guard the U.S. War Ships. They are made to destroy anything the comes in it like missiles or other air crafts. You are probably thinking how will the Air Force get all this money? Well right now the Kirkland Air Force Base in New Mexico has been using about a third of their $150 million of their annual budget on laser technology. People are asking that the Air Force should find out how to put laser technology on the Pentagon’s drones. In about four years our security is going to be top of the line.
