200 year old boat found

When people were looking for Malaysia Airliners Flight 370 that disappeared in March 2014 they instead found a wreckage of a boat from about 200 years ago. They said that the wreckage was a boat made out of steel from the early 19th century.

Computer Brain

This is an article about computers that allow cars to drive by themselves. Workers in a company called NVIDIA built a high powered computer they named Drive PX2, which allows cars to drive by themselves. According to the article, it is about the size of a lunchbox, and about as powerful as 150 MacBook Pro computers. Volvo announced they are going to test the computers in self driving cars next year. NVIDIA says, “the super-smart computer will let cars use deep learning, meaning they learn from their experiences and get smarter. This will let the autonomous cars of the future be better prepared to anticipate and avoid threats that could lead to accidents.”

I chose this story because I like cars. I think it’s interesting because I would like to just relax while the cars is driving itself.

50 foot killer

Many animals were horrifying 60 million years ago but this giant snake was the king. Just after the dinosaurs went extinct these were some of the first animals to mutate into shapes like animals today. It is about 50-60 feet long and weighed 2,500 pounds. It acted like a normal snake today but they killed their prey via constriction. It was called the “Titanoboa” the biggest baddest predator on the earth.

Can This company power the earth for 65,000,000 years?

A group of brilliant people are planning on powering the world for about 65,000,000 years. Their company is called general fusion. These people are trying to do what other scientists failed at for hundreds of years, the technology used to be known as lightning in a bottle. This technological wonder heats plasma, already at millions of degrees, to much higher temperatures. This technology’s source for fuel is limitless and causes almost no pollution. This company works on two different types of fusion, laser fusion, and tokamak fusion. tokamak fusion traps plasma in a magnetic and and tries to not let it escape. With laser fusion you put fuel in a little pellet and shoot lasers all around it, there is no magnetic field in laser fusion, but it compresses the pellet fast enough so that the heat doesn’t escape so it just gets hotter. General fusion is planning on doing both methods. This way the magnetic field keeps the heat inside, so they don’t have to compress the pellet very fast so the heat doesn’t escape, if they don’t do both they have to squash the pellet in one billionths of a second, but since they’re doing it with both methods they only have to squash it in one thousandths of a second.

General fusion is has a special structure that they are using for the experiment. There is a vortex sphere that has 2 plasma injectors on either side of it. The plasma injectors spin up liquid metal, and then inject plasma into the vortex. The vortex will be surrounded by thousands of pistons, making a compression wave which will squash the plasma. The Plasma then gets denser and hotter, until it is to enough to do fusion. The fusion energy emits neutrons, so they fly out and be absorbed by the metal, and that will emit heat so the metal will be hotter, and generate steam. The steam will run a turbine and make electricity, and some of the steam will come and run the pistons. That is how the machine will generate energy from just liquid metal, pistons and a lot of machinery.

Flying Car Hasn't Panned Out

I think that a flying car would be awesome but it is dangerous and the problem isn't just that it is to wide for roads it has more problems like safety issues like fuel, other planes, and maybe even bad use. I would love to have a flying car in this generation but the world just isn't ready for this kind of huge change.

You don't have to be 007 to own a submarine

Original Post

Imagine yourself strapped snugly inside your own personal submarine, while you check out the wonders of the ocean. It all seems like it's in a Bond movie---Except it's real. New advances in the submarine technology allows YOU to have your very own submarine! They are designed by Bond movie engineer Graham Hawk. The new sub is called DeepFlight Dragon and costs around 1.5 million dollars. Right now, you can operate a DeepFlight submarine at a posh resort and be an explorer for a day. Operating the sub is relatively simple, because it requires minimal training. Your head might be surrounded by a transparent canopy, giving you a 360-degree view of the ocean depths. With the touch of a small lever near your left hand, you can command this sleek, 16-foot sub to go into a deep dive. On your right, a joystick lets you steer in any direction you choose: forward, back, left or right.

Laser Jets

The story I read explained the possibility of laser weapons on a fighter jet, the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, (AFRL) says that it expects to demonstrate a laser weapon on a jet by 2020. Although these weapons are most likely going to work on fighter jets, arming larger planes has been a possibility since 2002 and the Air Force might go to work with that sooner. Lieutenant General Bradley Heithold has said that he would like laser weapons on C-130J Ghostrider Gunships for landing zone protection. Laser weapons is not the only thing the AFRL is working on though, they are working on things thought to be impossible only 25 years ago. A 360 degree defensive laser shield. The goal for the shield is to disable or destroy anything that goes into it such as a missile or enemy aircraft. The AFRL spends about a third of its 150 million dollar budget on laser weapons. So if their budget doesn’t change it's very possible laser fighters will be up in the skies by 2020.

I believe these fighter planes could open up whole new field in the Air Force and make big strides in the world of technology and disease. The technology can modified for whole bunch of situations, curing diseases or having spy like laser eye scanner to unlock a door. I think the technology is a great idea for fighting the enemies of the United States. The technology could change the world one day.If you’d like to learn more about this topic go to this link to CNN

Changes For New IPhone

To me I think that this was a very interesting story because I am very interested in new modern technology. In the article I read it told me a new fact about the new I Phone 6c or 7c. This New I Phone is supposed to come out in April. From their sources they said that these new I Phones will not have a audio jack which means the new I Phone could be up to forty nine percent slimmer. This will be a huge difference, but then how will we listen to our music? The answer is we will have to use bluetooth headphones, these headphones don’t require an audio jack or wires, but the problem with them is you have to charge them.. I wonder how the new design will look, will it get longer, or stay the same length. I also wonder will apply immediately make their new phone the whole forty nine percent or will they keep making it skinnier every time they make a new phone.I am very excited about this new product and to use bluetooth headphones. I personally am a supporter of the new I Phone 6c or 7c and I can’t wait until; it comes out in April. For more information about this article you can visit.

Human Like Robots 'Nadine and 'Edgar' Unveiled in Singapore

I found this article on human-like robots very intriguing. I originally read it because it seemed very advanced in technology. A picture of one of the two realistic robots featured in this article; Nadine, was the cover of the story. She looked so much like a human, so I figured she was one of the creators of these robots. Turns out she was just a robot with very realistic features. Some of these looks include; skin, hair, and movements. The only thing I found robotic about Nadine is her voice, which sounded fairly human-like anyway.

She also acted human, as she would talk, shake hands, answer questions, and hold a conversation. She could even identify people from the University, and call them by their name.

Nadine was created by scientists from ‘Nanyang Technological University’ in Singapore.  They must be very smart there, because they also created another robot named ‘Edgar’. Edgar looked less realistic, but still had human-like personality traits. He can make facial expressions and gestures to match yours, and according to the Article you can “interact with others without being physically present”.

I find both of these Robots very cool, and I really enjoyed learning about them. I can’t wait to see what people from ‘Nanyang Technological University’ can do next.

Artificial Surf Wave

Kelly Slater and his team of surfing experts came up with a prototype of an artificial surfing wave pool. it's a near perfect wave over 100 miles from the coast.’’It is getting close to replicating the energy that you see at some of the world's best waves of that size’’, says Dave Prodan a spokesman for the WSL. Also known as the World Surf League. Although wave pools have existed for many years none match the quality of Kelly Slater’s wave. It is about the height of a surfer and gives surfers the speed and power they need. The edge of the wave is crisp and cut so neat that surfers will be able to do more tricks . Since the wave is barrel shaped surfers will be able to ride inside of the wave. Surfers call it time inside the tube.

We will see if the artificial wave will be a success or not. Many surfers trying to make this wave pool have run into problems because of the huge cost  of energy needed to move water in the way that's comparable to a natural wave. I hope this works out and we could have these wave pools everywhere. My uncle loves to surf. He would travel anywhere to see one of these and he would love to ride one to feel as free as he does when he’s surfing in the ocean. My cousin also loves to surf and I think both my cousin and my uncle would love to get a chance to ride in this artificial wave pool, and be in the tube if water the wave creates.

Can Hacking Nature Save Our Earth?

This story is so interesting, because we all know that pollution is a horrible problem! What if there was a way to take CO2 out of the air? Trees and plants do that all the time, but right now they are either being cut down or can’t keep up with all the CO2 we put in the air. Even though it sounds like a great plan, there are flaws.

1. It would cost a LOT of money: who would fund the project?

2. Where would we put all the CO2?

There are a lot of pros, but there’s enough cons to be worried if this experiment goes wrong. Ever heard of the story of “Pandora’s Box”, this is a lot like it. When you first open the box (create the fake trees) all the evil (the cons) come out, but when you open it again hope comes out. ASU (Arizona State University) is working on bringing this dream of ours to life. Maybe one-day this won’t be something we have to be worried about!

What could we do with all the CO2? “Put the CO2 at the bottom of the ocean, but you have to be worried about the side effects” says Yale University geologist Donald Penman. We know that there are side effects, but I think we should keep our eyes on the prize. Once we take the CO2 out of the air, it will definitely help everyone! I think that this is a great way to improve our Earth. This will help us live happier and healthier life!

Realistic Robot, " Nadine"!

I was very interested in Nadine the robot. When I saw a picture of her I thought she was a real human. I thought that this story was interesting because it's weird that wired robots could remember things and act like a real human. Nadine has her own personality and also soft skin. She can remember people she has met a few days earlier. In the near future robots like Nadine could watch children, plus even help work in job areas that need workers. Right now lots of people are unsure if the robots can help. They are mostly scared of them, but soon they will seem normal to us as we see them in our daily lifestyles. A professor named Nadia Thalmann created Nadine and revealed her to the scientist at Nanyang Technology University. There was another robot that was revealed also. As you can see robots are getting more popular and high tech.

I just got a drone and Nadine reminded me of the drone. Of course Nadine is a lot more dressed up with programs then the drone, but they both are robot types of things. Speaking of drones they are getting more popular also. Amazon has drones in some parts of the U.S. already that can deliver packages in up to only 30 minutes. I wonder if Nadine will get jealous if the drones get a bigger hit than her. For now though she is safe to say she is the most unique robot yet. This was a very fun filled story to read about. If you want more information on Nadine go to the abcnews.com website. There are also other stories like this on the website for you too look into.

Nadine the Robot

The people who work at Nanyang Technological University, which is located in Singapore
invented a human like robot called Nadine. Her human creator thinks that these kind of robots could live in someone's house and help them. Nadine has different moods it can be happy or sad. The robot also has good memory it can memorize people it has seen or heard before. NTU believes that Nadine is similar to Apple's Siri. There was also another robot invented by NTU his name was EDGAR who can copy and project a human's emotional feelings and expression. I think that I chose this article because I think that a robot could someday help a human do things. I also wanted to see what these two particular robots could do.

A Remote For Your Home

Sevenhugs CEO, Simon Tchedikian, is developing a new kind of remote that controls any smart device in your home.  For example, if you pointed your remote at your lamp, it would automatically show a picture of a lightbulb that you could use to turn your light on and off.  The downside about this remote is that at first, you have to let the remote get used to your home so that it can map out where everything is.  You also have to charge is once a day because the battery gets zapped pretty quickly.  Tchedikian says that the company has already started working on new devices that will work with the smart remote such as the Nest thermostat and the Sonos speakers which have already been created.  Plus the smart remote costs less than $200 so it won’t drown your bank account.

This new smart remote seems like a great idea.  Today, everyone has so many apps, downloads, and websites that we can barely keep track.  With the new smart remote, it will make things a whole lot easier.

A Device That Can Take You Anywhere

This interesting mechanism that can take you anywhere in the world that you want to go. This device is called the Oculus Rift and is put on your eyes so you can see the places you want to go. This apparatus is like a pair of goggles that you look through to see the different things of the world. You can take yourself to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean or even take you to Hawaii. This device wraps around your head making the goggles stay in place and so you can have a pleasant trip to wherever you want to go. While wearing the device, you can turn your head and the inside knows you’re turning your head so the image will change in the direction you turn. I think this device is neat because if you ever wanted to go somewhere and can’t, you can put on these goggles and it can take you anywhere. The CTA (Consumer Technology Association) predicts that it will sell 1.2 million units by the end of 2016. This device will come out by mid-2016 and could make an impact on thousands!

Moos Charging Sticker

I thought it was interesting how now if you don't have a cord to charge phone when it is low on battery you can stick a Moo charger sticker on phone and it will charge it. The sticker is a removeable adhesive containing QI wireless charging chip. Moos charger sticker isn’t an-all-in-one sticker, you still have to place your iPhone onto a QI charging dock.

It also is thin and adds a stylish look to your phone that is more decorative than a juice pack (mophie). There are many patterns to choose from. My mom has a mophie case which is like the Moo sticker but it is bulkier and still needs a cord. The Moo charging sticker adds no weight to your phone and is a stylish sticker. My mom's case only comes in plain colors like black, blue, and white.

I believe Moos charger sticker is a fast and easy way to charge your phone.

Is Apple Making A New Mini IPhone?

Is Apple making a new Mini IPhone? The public doesn’t know for sure but, the KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has a prediction about the new IPhone. The KGI thinks that the new IPhone will be called the 6c or 7c and only 4 inches tall. Apple wants to please its customers and many are not fond of the large sized phones. Every year Apple creates a new IPhone it lowers the price of the last two IPhones and stops selling the one from three years ago. So, because of this there would be no more 4 inch IPhones left for the customers that enjoy the smaller phones to buy. The estimate of how many IPhones could be shipped in 2016 would be 20 million to 30 million 4 inch IPhones.

These new iphones would be improved from the last 4 inch IPhones technology. Although the Iphone 5c is made of plastic the IPhone 6c or 7c would be made of metal like their usual phones. These phones would be skinnier and be more like the apple 6 and 6s IPhones. Although, these phones may not have 3D-touch because, of their small size. Kuo predicts that apple wants to make this phone even skinnier than the iphone 6s. The IPhone 6s only being 7.1 mm. thick apple would need to eliminate the  headphone jack which is 3.5mm. This would mean a very skinny iphone. People would have to listen to music through bluetooth headphones. Another way would be a headphone jack that plugs into where you charge your phone. I think this would be a bad idea and make a lot of customers unhappy.

On the other hand this may not be true because the KGI are not always correct on their predictions. In my opinion I think apple wouldn’t make a smaller phone and eliminate the headphone-jack. For that reason, it makes this article very interesting to find out whether they make a smaller IPhone and eliminate the headphone-jack or not. What do you think will happen?

Custom Picture Books for Children

This picture book uses tech to make picture books that have the child reading the book the main protagonist. The company Lost My Name is using user submitted information online to create personalized books for children. The company’s first book, The Little Boy Who Lost His Name or The Little Girl Who Lost Her Name depending on the gender submitted online. Now The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home is bringing it one step further by taking information on where the child lives so that the book can have the character see landmarks or sites from where the child lives. These books are great because the kids who read it it can be immersed inside a book that has them as the hero. This can interest many children and make it fun for the whole family to enjoy. If I was a child I would love these interesting books too. For more information about these books Visit the Washington Post Article.

Volvo Creates an Auto Drive Car with Netflix

Ever disappointed not to be able to continue watching your movie because you need to go to work? Volvo has a solution for you. The car company has recently created a car that drives itself. This car also consists of a huge screen that flips up on the passenger side, connected to Netflix. Sounds amazing. Only one downside, though. Reports say movies have a tendency to randomly stop where there are little or no connection to wifi. This may be a problem, although there are some upsides to this new gadget. The car knows how far away the place you are going is, so Netflix automatically suggests movies that last the same period of time. Although this new technology might have to be worked on, it certainly looks amazing.

One Thin Sticker Can Charge Your Phone

Are you tired of plugging in your phone every time it is low on battery? Now there is a solution with the Moos wireless charging sticker. It is a removable adhesive containing QI wireless charging chips. There is also a variety of patterns to chose from. The team promises that the sticker “works with QI wireless technology”, but you still have to place it on a Q1 charging dock.

There are already a lot of phone cases that charge your phone, but I think that the Moos sticker is different. Most cases are big and bulky. Because of this, they add a lot of extra weight onto your phone. The Moos sticker is different because it is a thin sticker that goes on the back of your phone and adds no extra weight. Also, the Moos stickers come in a variety of colors, while most of the other charging cases don’t. I know this because my brother has a case that can charge his phone and there were only a couple of plain colors to chose from like black and white.

I believe that the Moos sticker is a more efficient and simpler way to charge your phone. Soon, Moos stickers will start changing the world of phone cases one sticker at a time.

7-Year-Old Spends Roughly Over $5,900 On Jurassic World Game

7-Year-Old Spends Roughly Over $5,900 On Jurassic World Game

The minute I read this story I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I can’t believe that anyone would spend nearly $6,000 on a game. A seven-year-old boy in the United Kingdom was playing a Jurassic World game when his father noticed that he had spent £4000 (nearly $5,900) on In-App purchases. His father called the Apple company asking for a refund, but Apple just said that he should be watching what his son is doing and suggested to change In-App purchases off in settings. The Jurassic World game is a game where you raise dinos on a farm and train them to fight. You can purchase dino bucks to make the process faster. The boy had made over 65 transactions’ worth of dino bucks. Remember, even if a game is free to download, it doesn’t mean that it is totally free. It is unbelievable that anyone would spend that much money while playing a game. To learn more, click the link below. :)

Laser-armed fighter jets

This was a very interesting story about how the U.S. air force is creating laser-armed fighter jets by 2020. The air force has been testing it since 2009 when they tested the laser on a plane with nobody in it.Throughout the years they have been working on it they have made some new things that will really be effective in war. The Air Force made a turret that made a 360 degree shield around a supersonic plane nearby. The lasers can go through most of the strongest metals from all of the heat. Aircraft carriers have a laser now that is used to take out fighter jets that are attacking. The downside to them is that it isn’t that accurate.

I believe that this is a big breakthrough that we need to get to improve our army and navy. It could also help because ISIS has many new missiles that would do a lot of damage and the lasers can go through them and blow them up to stop the missiles from harming anyone.

Windows ten is getting a very fast start

After 5 months of its official release, windows ten is already on more than 200 million PCs, tablets, and phones according to the new report that microsoft put out today. That's 140% faster then how fast windows 7 was used when put out on the market, and 400% faster than windows 8! Though, it isn’t that surprising seeing that microsoft is giving windows 10 away for free to anyone who had windows 7 or windows 8 already on their PC. But some of the electric growth is coming from businesses too: Microsoft said that 76% of their corporate customers are testing windows 10 out, and some 10% of schools and businesses windows ten as well.

Windows 10 customers have spent 4.5 times as much time on apps, movies, songs, and other things from the windows store that the average windows 8 customer would purchase.  Microsoft is over all the ecstatic by the incredible response that windows 10 has gotten. The vice president of the microsoft windows wing says that he is excited for it all as well, and also says that the gap in satisfaction for windows ten versus the previous versions is significant. I thought this story was interesting and relatable, since I have windows ten because I had windows 8 before so it updated for free. I thought nothing much of it, but apparently windows ten is having a big BOOM in the technology world. If you want to learn more about the new windows 10 and its big beginning please click here

Wisewear Bracelet of 2016

The wisewear bracelet I think is a great invention that helps keep you safe and fit. The wisewear bracelet is a bracelet that you can wear with style but it still helps you. With the wisewear bracelet you can train it so you can personalize your bracelet. You have to train your bracelet to do what you want to do this you need the app in the app store. Then you can tell it how many taps you want to do when you need to call 911 and gives your location. It can also send audio or videos. The wisewear bracelet also tracks fitness. Such as steps, heart rate, calories burned, and it also gives notifications of texts and emails. It also comes in 2 different colors gold and silver. This bracelet is a smart bracelet that i think will help many people. This bracelet is going to be sold at $300 and it is available this month. For more information go to http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/news/2016/01/05/10-fun-gadgets-unveiled-ces-2016/78336142/

Dog gets 3D-printed prosthetic legs

Derby the dog was born with no front paws, and small deformed front legs. Tara Anderson, who is an employee at a 3D design printing company, fostered Derby. Anderson made Derby a set of round 3D-prosthetic legs in the late 2014. The goal of the legs was to raise him to a normal height in the front. He is currently wearing an updated new version of these in a 8 formation, which allows him to walk, run and sit like a normal dog.

The printer uses a laser to harden and bond together tiny pieces of plastic. Derby isn't the first animal that has benefited from a 3D printer. Last year, a goose was made a 3D printed leg, and a toucan got a 3D printed beak repair. The 3D printer is a machine that has been helping animals, humans, companies in many different ways. But that doesn’t mean it lacks any faults. But for now, the 3D printer is a helpful machine.

Futuristic Batmobile-Porsche Hybrid Invented by Faraday Future

At the 2016 CES event in Las Vegas, a company named Faraday Future made a prototype sports car. Apple Watch: Kids Getting Caught

All around the world there has been cheating since school has ever happened. It first kids looking at other kids test and writing it down. But because of technology today kids use their phones, ipads, ipods, all the technology we have . There is one that just came the apple watch. It can give you test answers and teacher wouldn't even notice. A college student was taking a test and saw one of the other student. She used her apple watch for test answer and the teacher thought it was just a regular watch. Now some schools are banding apple watches.
I think that they should ban them from school, because they count as technology and at least at my middle school we are not aloud our iphones, ipads, ipods, and laptops out during school. We already have a lot of ways to cheat we don't need anymore.

Laser Armed Fighter Jets

The military is expecting to have laser armed fighter jets by the year 2020. These jets will be able to protect the jet from incoming missiles and other jets. What makes this hard is the g-forces and vibrations at near supersonic speeds. This is a quote from the article “[a] 360-degree laser bubble would surround a U.S. warplane. That bubble would disable or destroy anything that comes inside, like a missile or another aircraft.”

I think that these jets are a great idea because they will protect the jet and the men and women inside from missiles and even other jets. It will be hard to make the kind of laser that is needed though because the laser needed will have to be small, have good accuracy, and be very powerful to work for the jets. Even though it may be hard I think these lasers will be a great step up for the military.

Hoverboards get ban

Hoverboards get ban
By:Jake Ahlefeld
Hoverboards without wheels are illegal in the united kingdom and ban in New York. However hoverboards with wheels have been restricted in a number of stores. The lithium batteries are placed where you put your feet and the batteries can't take that much pressure so after a while they blow up. Also if you charge it to long they overheat and cause fires. They were supposed to be a blockbuster christmas gift but because of the safety concerns there not for sale.

Rumors about new iPhone 6C/7 raising many questions

This article was all about how Apple might release a new mini iPhone. It could be called iPhone “6C” or iPhone “7”. The title has not been revealed, but in a presentation KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who makes correct predictions about Apple often, said that in November, Apple will release a 4-inch mini-phone. This new edition to the iPhone family will be made of metal, unlike the iPhone 5C. To be able to make it this small though, Apple would have to discard the new and cool 3D feature of the bigger phones. This was all because customers started to complain that the newer phones in the 6th generation are too big and hard to use. This way, they will get their smaller phones, but lose things like the earphone input. To make it as small as Kuo predicts, Apple will be forced to sacrifice some things like this. People can use wireless headphones, which are becoming popular, but there is a drawback; you have to charge them.

I think this is crazy though. I have an iPhone 6 and I love the size. I look at my dad’s phone and say “was your phone always this small”. Now, I find it hard to use his phone. The keyboard is smaller, for one. My iPhone 6 is easy to hold and has a bigger screen. I also don’t want to lose the earphone input. I love my earphones, but if I want this new phone, I’ll have to scrap them. I understand I could switch to wireless headphones, but I don’t want the hassle of having to charge them. I have enough chargers as it is, and I don’t want another cord. I might be able to learn to like them, but I don’t want to have to go through that trouble. I also don’t want to lose some other new features on my iPhone 6 that I love. Click here to learn more about the new iPhone.

Will hacking nature protect us from climate change?

Will hacking nature protect us from climate change?

Will changing the climate save us from climate change? Do you think hacking the climate will save us from climate change? Well, if we want to avoid global warming this might be the way to do it. This is how you do it. The text cites, “One way to keep global average temperatures from warming beyond a catastrophic 2-degree-celsius tipping point, according to some experts, is to suck massive amounts of CO2 out of the atmosphere.” That may sound weird or confusing but it will help the climate from changing. What also happens is, the structures suck carbon out of the air and turns into fibers. The fibers then can be used for, cars, buildings, electronics, etc.
There are problems that need to be solved as well.

1. The process would be very expensive
2. If the CO2 gets sucked out of the air, where do we put it?

So there are two problems we run into. Finally, the text cites, “Some experts fear if the average global temperature rises above two degrees celsius, reversing global warming will be even more challenging.” To conclude, there are positives and negatives in this process.

Mark Zuckerberg Challenges Himself to Make a Jarvis from Iron Man Or A.I.

Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook creator has now tested his abilities to the max once again with trying to build his own “Artificial Intelligent Assistant” or “Jarvis in Iron Man” he announced this on Facebook on Sunday on his post. He also said he will give and teach it voice control, allows friends in the house when they ring the doorbell, and give it control over functions like lighting, music, and temperature. Mostly important to help him around the house when caring and treating for his newly born daughter Max. It will check Max’s room in case there is trouble Mark needs to know about, just to keep Max safe. But also he was going to build it for work to help analyze data and keep his corporation running more smoothly, effectively, keep it safer, and to block hackers. This is not the first time the Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg has challenged himself, he tried mandarin, read two books a month, and meet someone new everyday. But research has showed us that AI “ The ability of a machine to exhibit human like intelligence.” According to studies this can be more dangerous the a Nuclear powered bomb. Also home protectors like ring and nest have and many more have been shown to be easily hacked and could become very dangerous. If Mark Zuckerberg does this then is there really anything he can’t do, and I would also like to see this machine in action and it could change our whole world. He also would like to advance this technology to perform everyday human work.

Apple iPhone 6c - NO Headphone Jack?

Mini, that is the word that they are using to describe the new iPhone. The iPhone 6/6s are 7.1 millimeters thick! If we drop the headphone jack then it will be losing 3.5 millimeters!  (That is 49% slimmer) I think that with an even smaller phone some people will be disappointed. I won’t be. I think that there is plenty of other ways for us to use headphones/earbuds. One way is, you can use Cordless, Bluetooth ones but they have to be charged. There is a $2 adapter that can be inserted into the charging port but then you can’t listen to music while charging. Finally, you can use a bluetooth connected hat that has mini speakers inside. Hey wait, isn’t there headphones all ready that are wireless? Yes! Beats bluetooth headphones are wireless, they must have paired with apple...Ok no but they were thinking ahead… right?

I think that the new iPhone should not be worried about/not stressed about it. There are still plenty of ways to listen to music. You could use the adapter and would  not have to worry about buying something very EXPENSIVE. The bluetooth, wireless earbuds are,
almost $200! and beats are about $300. If your parents said YOU had to pay would you do it? I would just by the $2 adapter!

The City Of “Sea-Scrapers”

People have failed for thousands of years to live underwater. But, now humans can live with Sebastian the crab. The water of the world is still considered unknown and alien, but know we can think with the crustaceans. t has designed the New York City of the oceans, and he calls it Aequorea. He has planned to make a group of eco-villages that can house up to 20,000 people in the distant future. Callebaut calls these building “ocean-scrapers” that will go all the way to the bottom of the body of water. The buildings look like jelly-fish structures, and will be produced from recycle material. Aequorea has not only living space but will also have, hoteles, offices, science labs, sport fields, and farming land all spread across 250 floors. To answer some people's questions the Aequorea is made with geometry and ballasting that will counteract marine whirlpools and natural buoyancy, so you don’t need to worry about strong currents, earthquakes, or storms. So the Aequorea is completely safe. This unique city has advanced our way of life.
I thought this article was very interesting. If you would like to read more the link is below. “The City Of Sea-Scrapers” is an amazing experience for the generality of people. The small underwater city has something for everyone. So I asseverate you to read more.

The crash

For years, insurance companies have used estimates of your annual mileage to determine your car insurance rates. But with recent changes in technology, insurers now have an unprecedented ability to judge your actual driving habits. Armed with detailed data on how often you slam on the brakes and what times of day you're on the road, insurance companies are increasingly relying on precise, technological means of assessing risk and using that information to set your monthly premiums.

Liberty Mutual, the country's third-largest property-and-casualty insurer, took the latest step in that direction Monday when it announced a partnership with Subaru. Beginning later this year, Subaru drivers who have paid for the automaker's Starlink infotainment system will be able to download an app to their cars that notifies them when they are accelerating too aggressively or breaking too hard.

The app is part of Liberty Mutual's program, which gives drivers a 5 percent discount on their rates for enrolling and additional discounts up to 30 percent for heeding the apps guidance on driving safely.

Futuristic Batmoblie-Porsche Hybrid Invented by Faraday Future

At the 2016 CES event in Las Vegas, a company named Faraday Future made a prototype sports car. "Apple didn't just transform the phone, they transformed the way we lived our lives, and we want to do that, too," Faraday Future product architect Nick Sampson told the packed house. What is 5G network?

First we had 2G network, now 4G. “G” stands for generation. Software companies are coming out with the 5G network. You might be thinking what could possibly be in a 5G network? The 5G network will have texting, internet access. Something that they improved is from the video, to the ultra HD and 3D video. The completely new thing that they put into the 5G network is the Smart home access. AT&T predicted that this 5th generation network will come out in 2020. The difference from 4G and 5G is that 5G will be faster, smarter and less power consuming than 4G, enabling a slew of new wireless gadgets. 5G will let us have faster smartphones, more smart-home devices and longer-lasting wearable items. Also the speed of the 5G network is 40 times the speed of the 4G network. It is fast enough to stream ‘8K’ videos in 3D or downloading a 3D movie in 6 seconds. (for the 4G network it takes about 6 minutes.)

In my opinion I think that the 5G network will work great. With network speed like this we don’t have to wait for so long for a game, movie, video and etc. to download. All of these things each take six seconds! It is unbelievable that companies like AT&T and Nokia are coming up with this. My only question is how are they going to design smart home access with just a network? Wouldn’t this be putting our social security in risk? In 2020, when they predict for the 5G network to come out, will this plan come for only certain phones or is it available for every I phone? Besides these doubts I have I am sure that 5G network will be one of the biggest business successes in the world.

Samsung warns of impending financial year

2016 might not be the way everyone wanted it to turn out after all. According to Samsung’s chief executive Kwon Oh-hyun 2016 might be a poor financial year for Samsung, due to competitors such as Apple raising the quality of their products. Samsung is preparing for the worst, but also might not have to. Samsung’s main profit right now is coming from low budget devices that many people can afford, “ While Apple, Huawei and Lenovo are focused on mid- to high- range products.” Samsung’s main business is consumer electronics. Now that Apple has the idea, there starting to compete with Samsung in consumer electronics which might lose Samsung a lot of money. Like I said before this will either be a good year for Samsung, or a terrible year.

When I first heard about this I thought Apple must have something to do with this. I was right. It’s apple and many other electronic companies that are creating better electronics than Samsung. Is this the employees? I don’t know, but Samsung has to do something about this or their company is going to have a horrible year. Maybe even a horrible few years.

App Replaces Waiters in Beijing, China

In a Chinese restaurant located in Beijing, China, diners are surprised to find that there are no waiters. The waiters have been replaced by technology! There is an app that diners can download. This app features the menu, where you click on your order(s), then a number is called out and your meal is done in roughly five minutes. The restaurant does this because “in a world where you are already not talking to people at the table, then why not eliminate the need to speak to a waiter, too”.

I thought this story was interesting because I’d never seen anything like that--a waiter being replaced by an app! But, no matter how cool, I highly disagree with it. I think that technology is destroying the need to talk to people and socialize, and destroying the need to speak to a waiter, is not helping. When going online, sure you can make many friend on Instagram, Facebook, and twitter, but when you come face-to-face with that person, it’s kind of awkward because you don’t really know that person, you only know their online profile. You never know what to say because of this. But, if you meet a friend without using technology, you do really know that person.

Oculus Rift Virtual Reality and/or Oculus Touch Available for $600

Oculus Rift Virtual Reality and/or Oculus Touch Available for $600

Oculus has come out with a virtual reality headset. They used a screen about the size of a smartphone in a box with head straps. Then they connected a camera to it for mounting on the wall so it can read your head movements. They connected it to a xbox one controller so that you can play games. They also came up with Oculus Touch to go with Oculus Rift. They connected two controllers with joysticks on the top to Oculus Rift. These sticks can read if you give a thumbs up or throw something and much, much more. This allows for more intense gaming.

I really think that this is pretty cool. Virtual reality has been almost on the market for a while. Now we get the chance to really experience it. However I think we need to be more careful with things like that because a screen too close to the face for too long can cause cancer. Also because of the more intense gaming it is probably more likely to cause addiction. This could be a major problem in some people but for those who know how to be careful with a screen, it will be fun and intriguing.

Twitter’s Violent Post Policy Has Changed

Twitter made a statement saying that they have updated their policy to stop people from posting harmful or abusive posts. The update was issued to help say that Twitter will not tolerate actions used to harass intimidate, or fear to silence another user’s voice. Twitter’s trust and safety director said, “As always we embrace and encourage diverse opinions and beliefs - but we will continue to take action on accounts that cross the line into abuse.” The new policy gives the social network a stronger ability to suspend or shutdown accounts. Another update stops users from using multiple accounts to avoid suspension. As you can see Twitter wants to keep their users safe and happy.

I found this article very interesting. One of those reasons is because both my parents and my sister are on Twitter. Also Twitter is one of the most known social networks in the world. I believe that this is an excellent idea so people can be more cautious about their posts, and users can feel comfortable to express their great ideas and opinions.

Fitbit soared to NO.1 this Christmas

Fitbit has gotten to the top used wearable device in Apple’s App store this Christmas. Fitbit is the most used free app. I believe this is a very good story and it is cool because it says about how the apple watch will always be the #1 but Fitbit is doing a really good job. Fitbit has been awarded #20 which I think is very impressive because think of all the free apps out there at this moment. Fitbit has been the most used fitness app on Apple's App store. In the article it says that “smartwatches are killing the activity trackers produced by Fitbit.”In the story it also says that “214.6 million worldwide shipments of wearable device units in 2019 and In 2015, the firm expects 80 million shipments of wearables.” In my perspective the devices are really getting more popular every year.

Fitbit sold 5.3 million devices, which is more the the previous 3 quarters combined. Now a little bit about Fitbits, the Fitbit tracks your steps automatically and tells you on the app how many steps you have taken what your heart rate is and tells you how many miles you have walked. There are 5 types of Fitbits and they are called Fitbit original, Fitbit Ultra, Fitbit One, Fitbit Zip, and Fitbit Flex

New Way of Food?

Solar-power cooked food? The company GoSun has revealed a solar-powered grill that is able to cook meats and vegetables in less than 20 minutes. The solar-powered grill can reach up to 550 degrees. How it works is it has a pair of parabolic reflectors to get 80% of the sun’s energy and focus it directly onto a proprietary vacuum tube. What you have to do is place the grill in direct sunlight and wait 20 minutes or less, and you’re done! It also doesn’t matter if it is windy or if the temperature is down, as long as there is sunlight, it will work.

There are some downsides to this though. For example, what if the sun isn’t shining? Also the price of the GoSun grill is $599 and $899 for the solar-electric hybrid version. Is it worth all the money for some solar-powered food? You can decide if you want it or not when it comes out in 2016.

U.S Air Force With laser Weapons by 2020

Laser armed fighter jets will usher in a whole new way that wars are fought. “Laser weapons have been out for years, but for aircrafts you need it to be small accurate and powerful.” says Kelly Hammett Laser-shields are also available the shields have been tested.
Although deadly the military wants to use these weapons for defense not offense. However there are laws against using laser weapons to blind people. If there is one thing I know this will change the way people fight. To find out more go to  http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/17/politics/us-air-force-laser-fighter-jet-weapons-research/index.html

Artificial Intelligence May Replace the Smartphone

This article was about a survey made by Ericsson. They believe that the smartphone will be replaced by AI in the next five years. Ericsson surveyed over 6,000 smartphone users in cities all over the world. The survey also showed that most of the people surveyed think that wearing electronic assistants will be normal, and that internal sensors will tell us our well-being. The survey also showed that many people want to use virtual reality for everyday activities, such as watching sports and playing video games.

I personally found this article very interesting. I believe that in the near future, AI and virtual will become big parts of our lives. However, I do not think it will completely replace the smartphone yet. This new technology will help us with school, work, and entertainment. I am excited to see what else the great minds of the present will come up with in the future.

A Smaller Simpler Submarine

“The Dragon” is a sleek 16-foot sub that can be controlled with a little lever. It has two little round windows sticking out of the top of it, which would be where your head is. “The technology seems all so James Bond--except it’s real.” Said Thom Patterson, writer of this article. This “submarine” like underwater vehicle was priced at $1.5 million dollars. (More expensive than most cars bought in the US.)

As I read this article, I wondered what I would do with a $1.5 million dollar submarine, and thought of it as a waste of money. (I would personally by my own butler before that expensive of a vehicle)

Oculus Rift pre-orders crash site

The Oculus Rift is a great way to experience virtual reality. Created by the owner Palmer Luckey. Its for sale at 599, but people have been experiencing site crashes and etc.
Some people think it’s not worth it because of the risk, and i agree. It’s possible if you pay for it online and preorder that if the site crashes you could lose 599$! Although i absolutely love the idea of virtual reality i think that before you pay for your Oculus Rift that you are careful. Also the creator announced more problems about the controls not working and etc. Palmer is going to try to make sure all the problems are fixed. But don’t worry not all of the Oculus Rifts have had these problems, lots of people have had no problems at all!

The crash can look like a blank white page, or it will quit your of your browser. People have said it’s not really that bad but it’s very frustrating. The crash is supposed to be from the amount of people visiting the site at a time, causing it to overload and crash. I believe that he should try to fix it or have fewer people check out the site at a time. I think the oculus Rift is a very great idea but not if you can’t get one because of the site. I believe that he will fix this problem soon, so make sure to check out his website to see for yourself.

Powerball Goes On For Another Day

Powerball Goes On For Another Day

Who wants to be a billionaire? Powerball has announced there were no winning jackpot tickets sold on Wednesday. This means whoever wins will now get an estimated $675 million. The winner will get about $175 million more than they would have on Wednesday when the estimated amount of money won would have been $500 million. The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday were 2, 11, 47, 62, 63, and 17. The $675 million dollar jackpot will be the most in U.S. history. This will top the March 2012 jackpot of $656 million. The next drawing will be on Saturday. An estimated 30 million new tickets were purchased between Sunday and Wednesday. "This is more than 10 times what we see when the jackpot is at the lower levels," Texas Lottery spokesperson Kelly Cripe said Tuesday when it stood at $450 million. Nobody has matched all six numbers in one of the bi-weekly Powerball drawings since November 7, 2015. That is 18 drawings with no winner. Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. We will have to see if there will be any winners on Saturday or if the money will increase and go on for another week. The question is, how high will the money go and how much longer will this go on for.

        IPhone 7?

Are the new IPhones too big? Well for some people they might not be. Some Apple customers are no happy that there are 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch IPhones because it’s too big. It can be hard to get a 5 inch phone out of your pocket.  Many Apple customers like the 4 inch IPhones that Apple made in 2012 and 2013. Apple is thinking of releasing an IPhone 7, 7 plus, and 7 mini! This will allow customers to be more comfortable when using the IPhone. To be honest I like this idea because I’m not one of those people that like the big IPhones. The workers at Apple are estimating that this new IPhone 7, 7 plus, and 7 mini will be released in the first half of 2016. Hopefully this is true!

Revolutionizing Foreign Language Translator

Traveling to foreign countries can be very difficult especially if you don’t know how to speak the native tone. Communication, such as directions seems near impossible to find, that is until about now. Recently I came across a very intriguing article about a language translator called Lli. It doesn’t just give you text to read off of, it actually reads it out loud, and it’s voice activated. The Lli, launched at CES 2016, “Is a wearable translator repeats phrases back to you in the language of your choosing.” The available languages currently are limited to just, English, Chinese, and Japanese. The maker or the Lli, Logbar wants to add more variety soon. This handy traveling tool also includes a phrase dictionary for common interactions. The device is still a work in progress, but it is hoped to become a reality very soon.

I found this article interesting because I have always wanted to travel to many different countries, but only have a good understanding on the english language. With this Device, communication will be easy and breezy.
